Hope ~ A Prayer Letter

Hope ~ A Prayer Letter

A little while ago while reading my bible and referring to Scripture Unions Encounters with God, the notes for that day ended with a suggestion that I write a prayer letter to God in gratitude for the salvation offered by Jesus. This followed on from reading Romans 8:38-39 (RSV): For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. This resulted in my prayer letter to God:-

Apart from you there is no hope in the world, in you as the source of all goodness. Until I met you I had no hope other than the present, which is transient and gone tomorrow, and was so alone. When I met you and accepted you as my saviour, all was changed. I now had hope, would never be alone again and surprise, surprise, I no longer feared the inevitable: the death of this body. I still fear how I will die alone, in pain, comforted, quick, slow? but I know now death will not be the end but a glorious beginning. Amen.
