Animal Blessing Service

A wonderful Animal Blessing Service was held in our church on Sunday 30th September, as near to St. Francis Day as we could get (4th October).

Olive arranged such a meaningful service, where we came together to give thanks for animals and all Creation, and acknowledge our responsibility to care for God's world and all the wonderful things in it, and to give thanks for our own pets and all they mean to us. It was truly lovely to see Olive, Marlene and Barbara blessing each pet as they came to the rail. (Moreover, those that couldn't make it weren't forgotten either! - Ed.)

May we of Camborne RSPCA Auxiliary thank everyone who made this such a happy occasion: Olive, Marlene, Barbara, David T, Ray for the organ, the St. Martin's Singers, Alan who gave us the address, Molly for the lesson - all who gave their time and their care, it is truly appreciated.

A gentleman from another church was heard remarking what a wonderful service it had been - AND WE HAD A VISIT FROM THE WEST COUNTRY TV! We had no idea where he came from, but a short report was on the News that evening. We had an excellent assortment of pets, including dogs, rabbits, Guinea Pigs, a hamster - and a lovely noisy Parrot!

Thank you everyone,

Dorothy Fisher - Hon. Secretary Camborne Auxiliary, RSPCA CORNWALL BRANCH.
