The Discomfort Zone.
Allow me to ask you a question…
Would anybody agree with me, that as members of the Church Of England, we should be against the idea of adopting the Euro as our currency, indeed I would go as far as to ask if we should even be against our membership of the European Union?
I ask this question, because, as I understand it, the Church Of England was founded to break away from outside control. At the time of our church's founding, the Vatican's influence was immense (Indeed, it is still strong) and therefore, it is my contention that the influence of the Vatican then, in some ways is almost equal to that of Brussels today And NO, I AM NOT AGAINST CATHOLICS OR CATHOLISISM IN ANY WAY, SIZE SHAPE OR FORM. I am merely posing a question.
I will admit that the church's founding was in part as a solution to a 'matrimonial dispute', but the effect is the same.
On another point, I truly believe that The 'Big Bang' theory is correct, and that Charles Darwin's "Origin Of The Species" was also correct. Here's the good bit, I also truly believe that this in no way conflicts with my Christian faith.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my points above. Please put responses in the 'Outlook' box at the back of the church so they can be included in the next issue.
Yours in faith,
