A Mission Statement
A Mission Statement
Where are we going?
I want to continue to theme I began in last month’s new ‘mini’ mag. You have seen the titles above in many places around the church, but what do they mean?
Discerning God
My first concern is that all people grow in maturity in Christ. That each of us grows in understanding of who Jesus Christ is, and what He has done and continues to do in His Kingdom.
Valuing People
Secondly I want all people in Camborne that we come into contact with to know that there is space for each of them to exercise the gifts that the Holy Spirit has given them/wants to give them and that each individual person and each person’s contribution in God’s Kingdom is valued.
Serving Community
Thirdly I want us to grow in love for one another so that we can claim that God makes all things new. Because if we do not love one another, then we cannot claim that God makes all things new, since we ourselves have manifestly not allowed God to make us new. In loving one another we will inevitably fall over each other in trying to serve the community
Enabling Change
Lastly I want us to learn to trust God otherwise we will not be able to make a difference in the world; God calls us to be His enablers and facilitators of change in His Kingdom. We must learn to accept change in our lives in order that we might be able to help others accept change in their lives. The Church of England calls all Parish Churches to be ‘Agents of Change’ – to transform unjust structures in society and stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
Yours in Christ
