Cornwall Samaritans

You know who we are, don’t you? Cornwall Samaritans? We’re the people at the end of the phone. If you need emotional support, any time of the day or night, you can call us on 01872 – 277277. You can also email us at jo@samaritans.org, or turn up between 9 am and 9 pm at the branch – 19 Treyew Road, Truro – to talk face to face. The important thing is: however you contact us, what you say to us is confidential. We’ll listen for as long as you need us to listen. But we won’t judge you. We won’t tell you what we think you should do. We’ll listen. And whatever you say, it’s confidential.

We also do OUTREACH, which means getting out into the community and being there for anybody who might need emotional support. We’re at the Drop In and Share Centre – D.I.S.C. – at Camborne Parish Church from 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays, for example, and we’re just starting out one night a week at A&E in Treliske Hospital in Truro. You’ll find Samaritans at a lot of big public events, like festivals, and maybe you’ll also hear us on local radio or in the papers. Sometimes, Outreach means reminding people that we’re there for them if they need us. [That number again: 01872 - 277277].

And not just them; we’re there for you, too. If something’s troubling you, whatever it is (and even if you’re not really sure what it is), we’re offering you emotional support. Now, tonight, tomorrow, next week, whenever; if you think it might help to talk to somebody who will listen, in confidence, without judging you in any way, contact us. Really. Doesn’t matter what it is that’s troubling you. If you think it might help to talk, we’re here to listen for as long as you need – 01872 – 277277.
