Clergy Biographies

Revd Mike Firbank

Mike was a teacher before he trained for the ministry at St John’s, Nottingham. He was ordained deacon in 2005 and priest in 2006, and was curate in Illogan parish before being installed as Priest-in-Charge of Camborne Parish Church in 2007. He has a heart for social justice and for serving the community, and for seeing people grow in their ministry.

Mike is married to Kathryn and has 3 children.

Revd Olive Stevens

Olive trained on the South West Ministerial Training Course before being deaconed in 2004. She was curate in Camborne parish until she became Rural Dean for Carnmarth North in 2008. In 2009 Bishop Tim licensed Olive as team vicar in the parish of Camborne. Olive has a heart for people, enjoying serving them and seeing them grow in their journey with God.


Revd Canon Debbie Harvey

The Revd. Canon Debbie Harvey trained on the South West Ministerial Training Course and was ordained deacon in 1994 and priest in 1995. Debbie serves as non-stipendiary Curate in Camborne Parish and as Diocesan Chaplain with the Deaf.

She has been appointed an Honorary Canon of Truro Cathedral in recognition of her work. She is married to John and has 2 grown-up children and 6 grandchildren.

Revd Marlene Carveth

Marlene trained as a priest on the South West Ministerial Training Course and was ordained deacon in 2007 and priest in 2008. A long-standing member of the church in Camborne, she continues to work as a domiscillary dental nurse alongside serving the church. She has a heart for worship, and for helping people to identify and use their gifts from God.

Marlene is married to Buck. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
